It also offers an upmarket reception office and communal swimming pool.This exquisite Lodge is spread out over 31.5 hectares of pristine indigenous coastal forest, wetlands and bush. Its malaria-free location and proximity to the golden sands of Maitlands Beach makes it ideal for families with kids. Intersected by the Maitlands River, which has created a series of bass dams and drinking holes for its wildlife, the Lodge is home to a host of bird species and animals, including bushbuck, blue duiker and vervet monkeys. A favourite destination for bird watchers and nature lovers, it is also hugely popular with those who love going for safe, scenic forest and beach walks, relaxing next to the pool with a good book, or just enjoying time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The chalets, which range in size, are all very private with their own Bomas, beautiful forest views and luxurious furnishings. All have fully equipped kitchens with fridges, gas hobs and microwave ovens, tea / coffee stations televisions with DSTV, fans and air conditioning, hair dryers and even laundry facilities for long stayers. There is a reception office and Management Quarters. The Lodge also caters for day visitors, and offers a choice of packed picnic basket menus complete with top wines.
Plans were approved for a licensed dining and conference area to seat approximately 120 people.
Ten minutes away from modern shopping malls, restaurants and Blue Flag beaches, Thunzi Bush Lodge is also well positioned in relation to world-class nature reserves. Both the Addo Elephant National Park and the Shamwari Game Reserve, home to Africa's Big 5, are an hour's drive away.
