Radebe lists his top 3 city stadiums
Former Bafana Bafana captain and World Cup ambassador Lucas Radebe, who was in Durban last night to support Bafana in their friendly against Namibia, ranked Durban's Moses Mabhida as the country's best World Cup stadium, followed by Soccer City in Joburg and the Cape Town Stadium.
He said the Cape Town Stadium had a "spectacular" pitch and would be any soccer player's dream match venue.
"It is an amazing stadium, a spectacular venue for the World Cup.
"The players are really going to enjoy playing there,"said Radebe.
"Apart from having great sights, such as Table Mountain and the ocean, players and fans will surely enjoy the nightlife and entertainment in the city during the event."
The Moses Mabhida Stadium was his number one choice because of its unique design and arch with a cable car.
The Cape Argus took a ride on the Moses Mabhida cable car with Radebe yesterday.
At the top, he said: "This is magnificent. It is not just a stadium, but a facility from which you can see the city and the entire beachfront. That's what makes it my number one."
The City of Johannesburg yesterday revealed that its showpiece stadium had gone R1 billion over budget.
