New Property Search Facility for Investors

Property investors scouting for good buys will no doubt be delighted with the new search facilities just launched by top real estate website, IOLProperty.

"Until now," says GM Grant Leigh, "large property websites in SA have been limited by search functionality that is area-based, meaning that one had to know which suburbs you were interested in before you could perform a search.

"However, it is obvious that there are some groups of buyers for whom area is not important, or at least much less important than price or the type of property. These include serious investors who are focused on finding the best-priced listings, because they firmly believe in the maxim that you make your profit when you buy property, not when you sell it.

"And to assist them we have added some new search functions to our website. The first is the Price-Change search where visitors can quickly and efficiently locate all listings across any province where the original asking price has been lowered, and even filter them by the percentage of change.

"Also noted is the length of time the property has been on the market, which can provide an indication of how willing to negotiate the seller is likely to be."

In order to ensure our visitors are the "early birds", we have also added a New Listings search facility. This facility enables the buyer to find all new listings, again across any province and within a given price range. If need be, it can also be narrowed down to the areas or suburbs of their choice.

The New Listings and Price-Change searches complement our existing national Repossessions search, which shows the location of properties currently being held in possession by the banks (PiPs). These can also represent good purchase opportunities for serious investors.

These facilities are among seven new horizontal searches created by IOLProperty to assist particular interest groups in the real estate market. Others include the Guest House, Farm and affordable housing searches.
