IOLProperty is Independent newspaper's property portal. It was developed to compliment Independent's market-leading print publications which include the Star and KZN Property Guides.
IOLProperty makes use of webcrawler technology to generate the largest list of properties available at any source in South Africa. By providing the widest selection of properties, we give househunters the best chance of finding their dream homes.

IOLProperty offers a number of different options for advertising:

The easiest way to search for property is to run a smart search from the 'Property Search' box on the IOLProperty home page.

1. Enter the first few letters of the suburb you wish to search in the search box and hit 'Enter' or click the 'find' button.
2. Select your suburb from the dropdown list that appears.
3. You will notice that a set of other recommended suburbs will also be generated - check each suburb you would like to add.
4. If you would like to add more suburbs not in the recommended list then enter the first few letters of that suburb in the search box and repeat the above process.
5. Specify any filters (e.g. price, date listed etc).
6. Click the search button.

You can also run a more exhaustive search using the Detailed Property Search facility.
All searches are automatically remembered in our unique search history, so you can return to the site at any time simply rerun any previous search of up to 100 suburbs across SA at the touch of one button. Look for the search history dropdown list in the 'Property Search' box on the IOLProperty home page or in the top box of the Detailed Property Search page.

There are two types of property listing adverts accessible via IOLProperty - 1. classified ads and 2. listings advertised in Independent Newspaper and Property Trader property publications.

1. You can search the classified ads from the top navigation bar – 'Property Search' > 'Search Classifieds'. You can choose a province, publication, category (i.e. 'for sale' or 'to let') and enter keywords such as the suburb or estate agency.
   An even easier method is to simply run the smart search described above. In the results page click on the 'Newspaper Results' tab and any classifieds listings matching those criteria (suburb, province and category) will be displayed.
2. If you would like to browse, search or download the online property publications, select 'Property Search' > 'Search Print Publications' on the top navigation bar and click on the image of the print publication you are interested in. These are also searchable by keyword and by page number.

Adverts placed on IOLProperty will not appear in the newspapers. Conversely classified or lineage ads that are placed in the Newspapers should appear online for the duration they appear in print.
